Who Are We?

Kern Assistive Technology Center is a resource to the community.  The KATC will provides access to state of the art equipment as well as current information regarding assistive devices.  Differently abled individuals in our community receive assessments, training with equipment and consultation regarding acquiring devices, through a multi-disciplinary approach, provided by qualified personnel.

WHAT WE DO? Assessment for Individuals to determine their equipment and technology needs Research technology and equipment that will be best fit for the individual  Train individuals with the technology needed for their success. Provide Training for professionals who work with people with disabilities who use technology.  Loan equipment to individuals, classrooms & parents. Assistive technology devices and Assistive technology service?   Any individual with a disability who has identified a need for technology may be referred for services to the Center.  Any member agencies of Kern Assistive Technology Center may check out equipment from the loan library as well. Software may be used onsite only.  Must call for an appointment.
